The President of the Republic of Niger, Abdourahamane Tiani, stated that today’s presence reflects the importance given to strengthening the relations of brotherhood and bilateral cooperation between the two peoples, governments, and countries.
In a joint media statement, the President of Niger expressed his pride in the strength of the historical relations between the Algerian and Nigerien peoples, emphasizing a shared will to bring a “new dynamic to our brotherly cooperation and good neighborliness.”
Tiani emphasized that “Algeria’s position in support of respecting Niger’s sovereignty and its internal political choices is an honorable stance for your government and the great Algerian people.”
He added, “No African can imagine that Algeria, which suffered for more than a century from the woes of colonialism, could allow its territory to be used to attack a brotherly African state.”
He also stressed, “We are convinced that an important page of the history of the Sahel and Africa is being written today, and every country will choose its position according to its convictions, interests, and the values it believes in.”
