The Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies, Mourad Adjal, received on Sunday at the ministry’s headquarters a high-level delegation from the Chinese technology giant Huawei, led by Li Xin, the company’s President for North, West, and Central Africa, to discuss a technological alliance serving the national energy transition program.
The talks focused on integrating digital solutions and smart technologies developed by Huawei into the renewable energy sectors. Mourad Adjal emphasized that Algeria, within its new economic climate, attaches great importance to foreign investment based on “transfer of expertise” and “training,” praising the credibility of Chinese companies in implementing major projects in Algeria.
For his part, Li Xin expressed Huawei’s strong desire to be an active partner in supporting Algeria to develop technological applications in the energy sector and ensure the smooth implementation of the energy transition program, praising the golden opportunities currently offered by the Algerian market to international investors.
Following this meeting, the two parties agreed to hold a high-level technical meeting involving ministry experts and Huawei specialists to carefully study the Chinese proposals and identify priority areas. This upcoming meeting aims to establish the legal and technical framework for concrete cooperation projects that contribute to the digitalization of the national energy system.
