A global academic study by Harvard University has ranked the Algerian Civil Protection among the top 10 civil protection agencies in the world. According to a global ranking of civil defense agencies, Algeria was placed among the top 10 civil protection agencies worldwide based on its readiness to handle major disasters.
This global ranking is part of a study conducted by Harvard University, prepared by American experts Alfred Maxim and Gianna Thompson. The study was based on a set of criteria, including the number of interventions announced annually and the number of civil protection personnel relative to the population.
The criteria also included experience in large-scale operations, the country’s area and geographical extent, and participation in relief operations outside its borders. According to this study, the ranking of the top ten positions was as follows:
