Minister of Communication, Zouhair Bouamama, presided yesterday evening over a meeting during which accreditation licenses were handed over to officials of foreign media outlets accredited in Algeria. This step is part of efforts to organize and develop the media landscape and enhance its openness to the international environment.
According to a ministry statement, Bouamama emphasized that granting accreditation licenses comes within the framework of respecting applicable laws and regulations, ensuring transparent and responsible professional practice, and enshrining the right of foreign media to perform their duties under appropriate conditions. He called for the importance of adhering to professional ethics while ensuring the transmission of an objective and accurate image of Algeria.
The Minister explained that the communication sector attaches special importance to strengthening cooperation with various international media outlets, contributing to supporting bridges of communication and the exchange of expertise, and helping to introduce the reforms and development projects taking place in the country across various fields.
The meeting also provided an opportunity for the Minister to listen to the concerns of foreign media officials accredited in Algeria, stressing that the doors of the Ministry of Communication are open to them whenever necessary, the statement added.
