On the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Algeria and China, Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf, exchanged congratulations with State Counselor and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, Wang Bei. The exchange of greetings took place on December 20, 2023, marking this significant milestone in the history of both nations.

In a statement released today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs highlighted the exceptional level reached in the cooperation, solidarity, and partnership between the two friendly countries across various fields. This achievement is particularly noteworthy in the aftermath of President Abdelmajid Tebboune’s state visit to the People’s Republic of China in July last year. The visit paved the way for promising prospects to deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership between Algeria and China.

On this momentous occasion in the history of both nations, the foreign ministers expressed their determination to enhance coordination and consultation on regional and international issues of mutual interest. This commitment is crucial as Algeria prepares, at the beginning of 2024, to assume its non-permanent seat in the United Nations Security Council.
