The Minister of Post and Telecommunications, Sid Ali Zerrouki, held a coordination meeting with local sector officials dedicated to evaluating the results achieved during 2025 and continuing the pace of the action plan for the new year.
During the meeting, the Minister reviewed the most prominent achievements in the sector in 2025, noting significant progress in the generalization of fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) technology, the official launch of 5G technology, and the improvement of coverage in low-population density areas, in addition to strengthening satellite communications infrastructure and international connectivity through submarine cable projects.
He also addressed the achievements of the postal services sector, particularly the improvement of postal financial services, the generalization of electronic payment methods, the promotion of financial inclusion, and the modernization of express mail activities to support e-commerce and protect customer rights.
The Minister emphasized that the sector’s program for the new phase is based on a structural transformation centered on modernization, inclusion, and digital sovereignty. The program includes accelerating the rollout of ultra-high-speed internet, expanding the deployment of fiber optic technology to cover the entire national territory by early 2027, modernizing infrastructure, and enhancing modern technologies such as 5G and eSIM, alongside developing satellite solutions and the Internet of Things (IoT) to ensure equitable coverage.
The action plan also focuses on modernizing postal and financial services by strengthening the postal network with automated teller machines (ATMs) in high-density areas, improving network performance to ensure expanded access to services and higher service quality, and enhancing financial inclusion by diversifying products and electronic payment methods.
