General Saïd Chengriha, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defense and Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, attended the official opening ceremony of the ninth edition of the Doha International Maritime Defense Exhibition and Conference (DIMDEX-2026) on Monday, during the second day of his visit to the State of Qatar.
Following the official opening ceremony of this global event, held under the patronage of the Emir of the State of Qatar, the General and his accompanying delegation toured several exhibition pavilions. He closely inspected the displayed equipment, including high-tech weapons and weapon systems, and listened to detailed explanations and presentations provided by the pavilion officials.
The General was received by Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs, where the General expressed his sincere thanks for the warm reception and hospitality.
The General also reviewed the areas of military cooperation between the armies of the two countries, which is experiencing significant momentum under the continuous patronage of the leaders of both nations and their shared commitment to further promoting it to reach its desired potential.
For his part, Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani praised the distinguished level of bilateral military cooperation between the two brotherly countries. At the conclusion of the meeting, the two parties exchanged symbolic gifts.
The General also held a meeting with Staff Lieutenant General (Pilot) Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Mannai, Chief of Staff of the Qatar Armed Forces, where the two sides discussed the status of bilateral military cooperation and ways to develop it to the level of the excellent relations between Algeria and Qatar, meeting the aspirations of the leaders of both brotherly countries.
On this occasion, the General noted the Algerian-Qatari relations, which have witnessed strong momentum and distinct dynamics in recent years.
The Chief of Staff of the Qatar Armed Forces praised the level of bilateral military cooperation between the two brotherly countries, expressing his appreciation to the General for accepting the invitation. At the end of the meeting, the two parties exchanged symbolic gifts.
