The Search and Intervention Squad of the Algiers State Security has dismantled an organized criminal network consisting of five individuals specializing in the trafficking of psychotropic substances, seizing 38,000 psychotropic tablets.
According to a National Security statement, the operation, conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor, followed the exploitation of information regarding the activities of a criminal network specialized in the illegal trafficking of psychotropic substances.
Investigations conducted by the relevant department led to the identification and arrest of the network members, along with the seizure of 38,000 psychotropic capsules. Additionally, a sum of national currency estimated at 12.1 million centimes in trafficking proceeds was recovered, and three passenger cars were impounded.
The suspects were presented before the public prosecutor at the court of jurisdiction in accordance with a criminal procedure file.
