The Algiers State Security Services, represented by the First District of the Judicial Police, handled a case involving the formation of an organized criminal group active in the illegal trafficking of hard drugs for sale, offering narcotics for sale, concealment, and the misdemeanor of money laundering.
According to a statement from the Algiers State Security, the case began after the unit received information regarding a group of individuals, including a woman, promoting hard drugs across neighborhoods in the capital.
In this context, members of the anti-drug trafficking unit conducted a series of field investigations, which led to the identification of six suspects, including a woman in her forties, who were subsequently arrested.
Utilizing search warrants for the suspects’ homes issued by the competent public prosecutor, 17,400 hard drug tablets weighing 6.200 kg were seized, along with 325 million centimes in drug proceeds and four passenger cars.
After completing the legal procedures, the suspects were presented before the competent prosecution in accordance with a criminal procedure file.
