Operational teams of the El Oued provincial security have seized a significant quantity of smuggled foreign cigarettes and arrested one suspect. According to a police statement, the operation, conducted by the Mobile Judicial Police Unit in Guemar, resulted in the seizure of 68,000 packs of cigarettes, along with the truck used to transport the goods to a northern province.
The authorities explained that the contraband was loaded onto the truck and hidden under a cargo of peanuts. The suspect has been presented before the Public Prosecutor at the Guemar Court.
