The National Delegation for Road Safety has launched a national awareness campaign aimed at preventing traffic accidents during the holy month, under the slogan: “Ramadan brings us together… No to traffic accidents that separate us.”
A statement from the body explained that this campaign aims to raise awareness of the risks of traffic accidents during the month of fasting, emphasizing the importance of adhering to traffic rules and respecting traffic laws to ensure the safety of road users.
In this context, provincial road safety delegations across all provinces organized field visits covering various road networks, public spaces, passenger transport stations, and gas stations. These activities were conducted in coordination with security services and various partners from institutions and civil society organizations active in road safety.
Awareness brochures were distributed, and practical instructions were provided to drivers regarding safe driving principles, particularly during fasting hours. The campaign also called for avoiding excessive speed, fatigue, and exhaustion, while maintaining safe following distances, the statement added.
