The Rally for Culture and Democracy (RCD) has announced its participation in the proceedings of the Committee on Legal, Administrative, and Judicial Affairs and Freedoms at the People’s National Assembly. The session is dedicated to reviewing the preliminary draft law concerning political parties.
A statement from the RCD explained that the proposed law directly impacts the future of political pluralism and democratic freedoms in Algeria. The party noted that, following an invitation from the Presidency of the Republic, it submitted its observations, reservations, and proposals regarding the draft law, alongside contributions from other political groups. These remarks have been officially transmitted to the relevant authorities.
The party, led by Atmane Mazouz, will be represented at the committee hearing scheduled for next Thursday by Mohamed Laabdoussi, head of the party’s internal committee for studying the draft law and member of the National Secretariat, and Djamel Benyoub, National Secretary for Human Rights and Freedoms.
The Rally for Culture and Democracy reaffirmed its commitment to defending democracy, the rule of law, and political freedoms. It emphasized its continued efforts toward a legal framework that ensures genuine pluralism and a free and fair political environment.
