The territorial brigade of the National Gendarmerie in Ben Achiba, under the Sidi Bel Abbes National Gendarmerie Group, has arrested 12 individuals aged between 25 and 40 on charges of forming a criminal association to commit livestock theft.
According to a statement from the authorities, the case originated from a complaint filed by a victim reporting the theft of 37 heads of local breed livestock from a stable adjacent to his residence in the municipality of Ben Achiba Chelia. Following the report, a plan to combat livestock theft was activated, and a security strategy was devised to apprehend the network members. All potential routes for transporting the stolen livestock were blocked after completing the necessary legal procedures.
The operation led to the arrest of the suspects and the recovery of the stolen herd, along with mobile phones, a metal cutter, and two vehicles used in the crime. A judicial file was prepared against the suspects, and they were presented before the Public Prosecutor at the Telagh Court.
