Algerian gymnast Kaylia Nemour won a silver medal in the balance beam final on Sunday at the 2026 Artistic Gymnastics World Cup currently taking place in Cottbus, Germany.
The 19-year-old Nemour achieved a score of 13.833 after qualifying for the final by dominating the preliminary rounds.
The world champion reached the balance beam final in the best possible way, finishing the qualifiers in first place with a score of 14.600, ahead of Russia’s Milana Kayumova (13.866) and Germany’s Marie Quas (13.400).
In the uneven bars competition, her favorite specialty, Kaylia Nemour performed a new move that has been integrated into the table of the most difficult elements in the International Gymnastics Federation’s Code of Points, and it has been named “Nemour 2.”
Following the Germany stage, the World Cup circuit will continue through stops in Baku (Azerbaijan), Antalya (Turkey), Cairo (Egypt), and Osijek (Croatia), before concluding in Doha (Qatar) from April 14 to 18.
