Three people died and four others were injured on Saturday in a butane gas cylinder explosion in the municipality of Boughezoul, Medea province, according to a statement from the Civil Protection services.
According to the same source, Civil Protection units intervened yesterday at 20:22 following a butane gas leak from a cylinder that led to an explosion inside a ground-floor residence in the Belghouati area, Boughezoul municipality, Chahbounia district.
The statement added that the accident resulted in the death of three females, aged 6, 50, and 90. Their bodies were transferred to the morgue at the local hospital.
The incident also left four other people with various burns, ranging in age from 30 months to 57 years, who were transported by private individuals.
