The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs announced that citizens residing abroad in fragile and irregular situations can now regularize their status and return to the country in an organized manner.
According to a statement from the Ministry, this move follows the decision of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to regularize the status of citizens abroad in fragile and irregular situations who are subject to judicial or administrative procedures related to minor acts concerning public order or similar matters. The Ministry informed those concerned that they can regularize their status to facilitate their return home within an organized framework.
To this end, the Ministry invited the individuals concerned to visit Algerian diplomatic and consular missions in their countries of residence to submit regularization requests and the required documentation to benefit from this measure, on the condition that they do not repeat the acts for which they were prosecuted.
The Ministry also reaffirmed the state’s commitment to supporting, protecting, and addressing the concerns of the national community residing abroad, in accordance with the instructions of the country’s high authorities.
