Prime Minister oversees inauguration of the Governor of the Bank of Algeria

Prime Minister Sifi Gharib, commissioned by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, oversaw on Wednesday the inauguration ceremony of Mohamed Lamine Lebbou as Governor of the Bank of Algeria. The ceremony took place at the headquarters of the Bank of Algeria, in the presence of Finance Minister Abdelkrim Bouzred, along with several senior officials and executives of the financial institution.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister congratulated the new Governor on the trust placed in him, wishing him success in his duties, especially given the current dynamics of the national economy driven by economic projects launched by the President of the Republic. He noted that these projects present major challenges and stakes that require strengthening financial stability and consolidating the pillars of governance and transparency.

The Prime Minister emphasized the necessity of joint action and continuous coordination among various actors to create a new dynamic in the banking sector and keep pace with economic projects, in line with the state’s strategic directions and ongoing economic reforms. He called for working in a team spirit and unifying efforts to improve the performance of the financial system and contribute effectively to supporting growth and strengthening the position of the Algerian economy amidst current regional and international challenges.
