The Director General of the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency, Omar Rekkache, received the Ambassador of Belgium to Algeria, Jacques Queria, on Wednesday to discuss ways to develop mutual investments and encourage bilateral partnerships in priority sectors for both countries.
According to an agency statement, the meeting took place at the agency’s headquarters, where both sides emphasized the importance of intensifying communication between economic operators and institutions in the two countries. They also discussed establishing coordination mechanisms to organize business meetings and joint economic forums to explore investment and partnership opportunities.
The meeting focused on several strategic sectors of mutual interest, such as agriculture, energy, and the pharmaceutical industry. The two parties also discussed ways to establish a joint business council to enhance communication between economic operators in both countries.
In this regard, Rekkache highlighted the “pivotal role” played by the agency in supporting foreign investors and facilitating the implementation of their projects in Algeria, reviewing the advantages and incentives provided by the legal framework for investment.
