Arrest of an individual practicing illegal tattooing in Oran

The Research and Investigation Service of the National Gendarmerie in Oran has arrested an individual practicing tattooing without a license, as part of efforts to combat various forms of crime.

According to a statement from the National Gendarmerie, the operation was initiated after the cybercrime unit monitored an account on the TikTok social media platform where the owner posted videos and images containing content that violates public decency. The account was used to promote illegal tattooing activities conducted without any certified qualification or license, using tools and materials that pose a risk to public health.

Technical investigations led to the identification of the 24-year-old suspect. Following the completion of all legal procedures, a coordinated plan resulted in his arrest at his residence while in the act.

Investigations revealed that the suspect provided tattooing services for both genders for fees reaching up to 200 million centimes, while promoting his activities on social media by publishing images with content contrary to public morals.

The operation resulted in the seizure of materials and items used in the crime. The suspect will be presented before the Public Prosecutor at the Felaoussen Court in Oran on charges of endangering the lives or health of others, illegal practice of health professions, and the production, possession, and publication of indecent images and videos via social media.
