The General Directorate of Civil Protection, following a weather bulletin issued by the National Meteorological Office, has warned of strong winds expected in coastal and inland regions of the country in the coming hours.
The bulletin stated that wind speeds will range between 60 and 80 kilometers per hour, with peaks reaching approximately 120 kilometers per hour in some areas.
In this context, the General Directorate of Civil Protection called on citizens to exercise caution and adhere to a set of preventive measures to avoid domestic and traffic accidents related to weather fluctuations caused by the intensity of the winds.
The same services emphasized the importance of organizing and securing furniture and sensitive items prone to falling or sliding, and using alternative lighting methods that do not require electricity. They also stressed the need to protect glass elements by closing windows and shutters tightly.
Civil Protection urged people to stay away from windows, balconies, trees, and power poles, noting that cars, animals, and important equipment should be placed inside garages or in safe locations.
For road users, speed must be reduced to maintain a clear view of the road and avoid any obstacles. People are also advised to stay away from the sea, especially rocky areas, as well as lakes and water bodies.
The construction sector was also warned to protect cranes by positioning them correctly to prevent them from falling due to the wind. When traveling, weather bulletins and road conditions should be monitored.
