Saifi Appointed Coach of the Olympic Team

The Algerian Football Federation has announced the appointment of former international player Rafik Saifi as the new coach of the national Olympic team.

The decision was made during a meeting of the FAF Federal Bureau held on Saturday at the National Technical Center in Sidi Moussa, chaired by the President of the Algerian Football Federation, Walid Sadi.

The primary objective for Saifi, 51, who holds a “CAF Pro” license, will be to prepare for participation in the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. The national team has been absent from the Olympic Games since the 2016 edition in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Saifi previously served as an assistant coach at his former club, MC Alger, from 2017 to 2018, before taking on the role of interim coach for the same team for several matches during the 2018-2019 season.
