The National Democratic Rally (RND) highly praised the rational, wise, and balanced position expressed by the Algerian state, led by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, regarding the serious developments in the Middle East.
In a statement, the RND explained that the phone calls made by the President with his counterparts, the leaders of brotherly Arab countries, reflected Algeria’s Arab depth and its constant commitment to Arab solidarity. It also highlighted the strengthening of consultation and coordination during this critical stage, confirming Algeria’s support for its brothers and its backing of mediation efforts aimed at stopping the escalation and restoring security and stability to the region.
The party lauded the qualitative diplomatic movement initiated by the Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, under the direction of the President. This included receiving the ambassadors of Arab countries that were subjected to military attacks, a clear message reflecting Algeria’s categorical rejection of any infringement on the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states, and its strict adherence to the principles of international law, international charters, and support for just causes.
The statement added that the National Democratic Rally, while following the security deterioration in the region with great concern, emphasizes that the diplomatic option remains the best way to spare peoples the woes of war and the risks of sliding toward broader confrontations that could threaten regional and international peace.
The RND also called for an immediate halt to all forms of escalation and the prevalence of the logic of wisdom and self-restraint, in a way that ensures the protection of lives and the preservation of the interests of states and peoples.
The party expressed its pride in the pivotal role played by Algeria in consolidating the culture of peace and dialogue, stressing that Algeria will remain, as everyone has known it, the voice of reason and moderation and a champion of stability in its Arab and regional environment.
