The military cross-country team arrived Monday evening at Algiers Houari Boumediene International Airport following their distinguished participation in the 60th World Military Cross-Country Championship of the International Military Sports Council.
During the championship held in Trikala, Greece, from February 25 to March 2, 2026, with the participation of 38 countries, the Algerian elite achieved first place globally in the team category and second place in the individual category.
According to a statement from the Ministry of National Defense, the national military team was received by the Head of the Military Sports Service of the Department of Use and Preparation of the General Staff of the People’s National Army.
The General, Delegate Minister to the Minister of National Defense and Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, extended his warm congratulations to the military sports delegation for these honorable results, wishing all athletes further success and continued representation of Algeria in international forums.
