General Saïd Chanegriha, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defense and Chief of Staff of the National People’s Army, traveled this morning to the military sector of Tebessa in the Fifth Military Region.
According to a statement from the Ministry of National Defense, the General, accompanied by Major General Noureddine Hambli, Commander of the Fifth Military Region, inspected the military detachments involved in the qualitative counter-terrorism operation carried out on March 12 and 13, 2026. The operation resulted in the elimination of seven terrorists and the recovery of seven Kalashnikov-type submachine guns, a significant amount of ammunition, and other items.
On-site, the General addressed the military personnel, offering his condolences for their colleagues who were martyred in the line of duty during the holy month of Ramadan, praising the spirit of sacrifice and heroism they displayed during the operation.
He also conveyed the greetings and congratulations of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Minister of National Defense.
Following this, the General issued a series of directives, urging all personnel to exert further efforts to maintain the security of the nation and its citizens and to continue combating the remnants of terrorism with determination and pride in this sacred duty. He also emphasized the effectiveness of the approach adopted in fighting terrorist groups to eradicate the phenomenon from the country.
