Prime Minister Saifi Gharib oversaw the launch of the preparation works for the entrance of the zinc and lead mine located between the municipalities of Amizour and Tala Hamza in the province of Bejaia.
In his speech on the occasion, the Prime Minister emphasized that President Abdelmadjid Tebboune fulfilled his promise that the project would launch in late March, noting that the start is being supervised according to his instructions.
The Prime Minister stated that the work in this mine will provide an addition in terms of materials that Algeria will offer to the international market, allowing the national economy to position itself.
He added that these mining materials have become a strong economic backbone for competition among various countries possessing these mineral riches.
He continued, “Just as we started yesterday in Gara Djebilet, we start today from Bejaia, and we will start tomorrow from the phosphate mine, awaiting other projects.”
He also stressed that Algeria is moving with steady steps, and the Algerian economy is moving steadily towards ending reliance on oil rent, which is the ultimate goal set by the President of the Republic.
