CAF Scandal: Senegal Takes Official Action

The Senegalese Football Federation took its first official step on Wednesday following the CAF scandal and the unprecedented decision to strip Senegal of the Africa Cup of Nations title, declaring them losers by a score of 3-0 against Morocco.

The Senegalese Federation issued a statement expressing its rejection of the Appeals Committee’s decision, confirming it will appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne within 48 hours to reclaim its rights.

The Senegalese Federation called for the cancellation of the decision and the suspension of its implementation, including freezing the awarding of the title to the Moroccan national team until a final ruling is issued.

These developments follow dramatic events during the final, where the Senegalese team withdrew before the end of the match after a penalty was awarded to Morocco, before returning to complete the game, which they won on the field before the scandal was announced.
