Claude Le Roy, the former coach of several African national teams, criticized the Confederation of African Football’s (CAF) decision to strip Senegal of the Africa Cup title, describing it as “absurdity” planned behind the scenes.
In a press statement, Le Roy said, “I could not imagine for a single second that the Confederation of African Football could go to this level of absurdity.”
He added, “We know very well how CAF is managed by Motsepe, who from the beginning strongly wanted to grant this African Cup to Morocco.”
The French technician also emphasized that “for years, CAF decisions have been trampled upon, and behind all this are many behind-the-scenes maneuvers.”
He continued, “We are in an election period, and we can understand what happened in order to ultimately decide on crowning Morocco as champion. I believe all of this is not over yet, and Senegal will regain its right at the end of this case.”
