CAF Scandal: Senegalese Government Demands International Investigation

The Senegalese government has called for an independent international investigation into allegations of corruption within the leadership bodies of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

The request from the Senegalese government follows a decision by the CAF Appeals Committee to strip the 2025 African championship title from the Senegalese national team and award it to the Moroccan team, which had lost the final on the pitch.

A statement from the Senegalese government said: “We will resort to all appropriate means of appeal, including before the competent international judicial bodies, to achieve justice and restore the priority of the sporting result.”

It further emphasized: “Senegal will remain firm, vigilant, and steadfast in defending the rights of its national team and working to restore the honor of African sports.”
