Historic achievement for CR Belouizdad not seen in 30 years

CR Belouizdad qualified for the semi-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup on Saturday evening, following a goalless draw (0-0) against the Egyptian club Al Masry in the second leg of the quarter-finals.

The “Abnaa El Akiba” delivered a strong performance against a stubborn Egyptian opponent, as Benghit’s teammates succeeded in keeping a clean sheet throughout the match.

This qualification is the second of its kind in the history of the capital-based club in an African competition, following their 1996 achievement in the former African Cup Winners’ Cup.

Coach Saad Ramovic’s team will face the winner of the match between Egypt’s Zamalek and Congo’s AS Otohô in the semi-finals, noting that the first leg between them ended in a 1-1 draw.
