Algerian-Qatari-German Hospital Project Records Accelerated Construction Progress

The Director General of the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency, Omar Rekkache, conducted a field visit on Thursday to the Algerian-Qatari-German Hospital project currently under construction in the new city of Sidi Abdellah, Algiers. According to an agency statement, Rekkache was accompanied by the Director General of the National Investment Fund, Saleh Laabni, the Director General of Employment at the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security, the Director General of Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion, a representative from the Ministry of Health, and officials from the Investment Promotion Agency.

This project is considered one of the most prominent strategic health projects under construction in Algeria, with a capacity of 300 beds. It includes integrated medical facilities such as modern operating rooms, intensive care units, advanced medical imaging centers, modern laboratories, and specialized departments equipped with the latest technologies.

The project reflects the vision of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to establish a hospital designed according to international standards in terms of engineering and management. The goal is to provide care for complex medical cases that previously required transferring patients abroad, such as neurosurgery, scoliosis, liver transplants, pediatric heart surgery, and other specialized fields.

The total cost of the project, which spans 10 hectares with 6 hectares of built-up area, is estimated at approximately $287 million. It is being developed through a partnership between the National Investment Fund (FNI) and the Qatari company “APEX HEALTH.” The project is expected to provide 954 direct jobs, in addition to a significant number of indirect jobs, contributing to local economic activity and social development.

During the visit, Omar Rekkache expressed his satisfaction with the progress of the work, praising the pace of completion and emphasizing the agency’s commitment to managing and supporting the project to ensure its delivery within the specified deadlines.

He also highlighted the expected impact of this health facility in strengthening medical care capabilities and improving the quality of health services according to international standards, while contributing to the localization of specialized medicine and reducing the need for treatment abroad.

In this context, he confirmed that the project receives continuous support from the agency, in coordination with relevant sectors, until it becomes operational, embodying the President’s directives to develop a modern health system that meets the highest standards.
