National coach Vladimir Petkovic has confirmed the readiness of the national team, “Al-Khadr,” for their friendly match against Uruguay during the ongoing training camp in Italy.
During a press conference held yesterday, Petkovic praised the strength of the opponent, describing them as a major team with prominent stars such as Real Madrid player Federico Valverde.
“There is a gap between us and the Uruguayan national team, but this is very beneficial for us to compete with this type of team. It will help us prepare for facing Argentina’s attackers during the World Cup,” Petkovic stated.
Petkovic also spoke about Uruguay’s coach, Marcelo Bielsa, praising his capabilities: “Bielsa is among the best coaches in the world, and I know him well. Our mission will be difficult, but we are capable of performing well.”
Furthermore, Petkovic expressed his satisfaction with the national team’s performance in the previous friendly match against Guatemala, hoping they continue at the same level.
“I am pleased with what the new players showed in the Guatemala match, and I hope they continue in the same vein. I am also satisfied with the performance of the core players in the national team,” he added.
He concluded: “The positive aspect is the readiness of our players, especially physically, as the World Cup competition gradually approaches. The most important thing is knowing how to handle significant pressure.”
