General Saïd Chanegriha, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defense and Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, chaired the annual meeting of the Central Directorate of Military Facilities on Saturday at the Military Center for Engineering and Facility Development in Hussein Dey.
Following the reception ceremony, the General, accompanied by the Commander of the First Military Region and the Central Director of Military Facilities, paid tribute to the memory of the late Mujahid Major General Ahmed Sanhadji, for whom the center is named. He laid a wreath at the memorial and recited the Fatiha in his honor.
The General then delivered a guidance speech, followed via videoconference by officials of the Central Directorate of Military Facilities across the six military regions. In his address, he praised the contribution of the military facilities sector in strengthening the operational capabilities and readiness of the army.
He stated that under the guidance of the President of the Republic, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Minister of National Defense, the military facilities sector has contributed to enhancing operational capabilities and readiness. This includes the construction of modern, high-quality facilities and the improvement of living conditions for military personnel.
He added that the Central Directorate of Military Facilities has experienced a qualitative leap in recent years through various development projects. He noted the successful implementation of major infrastructure projects, including hospitals, social facilities, and camps for operational units, which reflect the significant efforts and efficiency of the directorate’s personnel.
Following the speech, the General viewed a presentation by the Central Director of Military Facilities, which summarized activities within the 2025-2026 plan and provided an update on various ongoing infrastructure projects within the People’s National Army.
During the visit, the General also reviewed technical equipment and programmed projects, toured the center’s facilities, and signed the guest book.
The meeting was attended by the Commander of the Land Forces, the Secretary General of the Ministry of National Defense, the commanders of the Republican Guard and the National Gendarmerie, the Director of the Cabinet of the Ministry of National Defense, the Commander of the First Military Region, as well as department heads, the General Controller of the Army, and central directors from the General Staff and the Ministry of National Defense.
