Israeli media sources have reported a significant and meticulously planned ambush by the Palestinian resistance in Khan Younis, southern Gaza Strip, resulting in the death of more than 11 soldiers.

The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation described the army’s situation in Khan Younis as challenging following a “very large ambush” there, amid ongoing clashes between the Palestinian resistance and Israeli forces in the Gaza Strip.

The corporation added that “the serious security event was an ambush that the Israeli army encountered south of Khan Younis,” noting that “the army might issue a clarification regarding the incident in Khan Younis after a few hours.”

Meanwhile, other Israeli media outlets reported that “the security event took place southeast of Khan Younis in the form of a tight ambush, and the evacuation of the dead and wounded took hours.”

It’s worth mentioning that on January 22nd, the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), carried out a special operation in the Al-Maghazi camp in the central Gaza Strip, killing 21 Israeli officers and soldiers.
