Algeria’s National People’s Assembly Speaker Ibrahim Bougali delivered a powerful address at the 152nd General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Istanbul, presenting President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s vision for reforming global governance and restoring international justice.
Speaking exclusively to dzwatch, Bougali warned that the world faces an unprecedented accumulation of overlapping crises demanding a fundamental rethink of the international order. He stressed that the post-WWII system is crumbling under the weight of armed conflicts, institutional distrust, and accelerating technological shifts.
Bougali strongly condemned the so-called ‘prisoner execution law’ as a grave violation of international humanitarian law, demanding its immediate halt. He reaffirmed Algeria’s unwavering commitment to the Palestinian cause, calling for accountability for war crimes and an end to impunity.
He welcomed Gulf ceasefire agreements while insisting on a permanent, comprehensive halt to aggression in Palestine and Lebanon. Algeria, he affirmed, champions decolonization, self-determination, and equitable global representation — values rooted in the enduring legacy of Emir Abdelkader.
