Algeria’s National Independent Electoral Authority (ANIE) issued a clarifying statement Friday addressing observations raised by political parties regarding the withdrawal and notarization of individual signature forms ahead of the July 2, 2026 legislative elections.
“The process of withdrawing individual signature forms is proceeding normally across all wilayas, including newly established ones, as confirmed through real-time monitoring via our dedicated digital platform,” the authority told dzwatch.
ANIE confirmed that signature forms remain available in sufficient quantities, allowing candidate lists to submit additional withdrawals — all tracked daily through the platform in real time.
Regarding notarization, the authority clarified that voters may authenticate their signatures before designated public officials, including municipal secretaries-general, civil status officers, notaries, judicial officers, official translators, and heads of diplomatic or consular missions.
ANIE, chaired by Karim Khelifane, called on all parties involved in the electoral process to ensure smooth operations and promptly address any reported shortcomings or irregularities.
