Algeria Issues Level-2 Weather Alert: Heavy Rainfall to Lash 29 Wilayas

Algeria’s National Meteorological Office has issued a special Level-2 weather bulletin, warning of exceptionally heavy rainfall across 29 wilayas starting this Saturday afternoon.

According to the alert obtained exclusively by dzwatch, the bulletin is valid from 3:00 PM until 11:00 PM, with precipitation levels expected to range between 20 and 40mm, potentially exceeding 50mm in some areas.

The wilayas most at risk include: Tiaret, Tissemsilt, Ain Defla, Algiers, Blida, Médéa, Laghouat, Djelfa, M’Sila, Sétif, Mila, Constantine, Batna, Khenchela, Oum El Bouaghi, and Tébessa.

A separate warning covers western wilayas including Tlemcen, Ain Témouchent, Oran, Mostaganem, Chlef, Tipaza, Naâma, Saïda, Sidi Bel Abbès, Mascara, Relizane, and Boumerdes, with rainfall expected to persist until at least 3:00 AM.

Citizens across affected regions are urged to exercise caution and avoid unnecessary travel during peak rainfall hours.
