Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune expressed deep concern over the deteriorating situation in Mali, reaffirming Algeria’s readiness to extend a helping hand to the Malian people, as it has done since 1962.
Speaking exclusively, Tebboune stated: “We regret what is happening in Mali. We knew things would escalate because Mali entered a phase that could only lead to instability. Force never solves problems.”
He firmly rejected accusations that Algeria interferes in Mali’s internal affairs, telling dzwatch: “Algeria has never and will never interfere in Mali’s internal affairs. The 2015 Algiers Agreement is Mali’s business, not Algeria’s.”
On Algeria-US relations, Tebboune confirmed they are “always good and improving,” adding: “Americans recognize Algeria’s standing in Africa.” He stressed Algeria remains non-aligned and will never accept a foreign military base on its territory.
On Palestine, the President reaffirmed that the only solution is a Palestinian state within 1967 borders, warning that the so-called “cemetery peace” amounts to genocide that will lead straight to the International Criminal Court.
