President Tebboune Chairs Meeting on Upcoming Early Presidential Elections Preparation

President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, also the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Minister of National Defense, chaired a pivotal meeting today focusing on preparations for the forthcoming early presidential elections. The meeting was attended by key figures, including the President of the Council of the Nation, the President of the National People’s Assembly, the President of the Constitutional Court, the Prime Minister, the Chief of Staff of the National People’s Army, the Director of the Presidential Office, the Minister of Interior, Local Authorities and Urban Planning, and the President of the National Independent Authority for Elections.

It was during this gathering that the decision was made to hold early presidential elections, with the date set for Saturday, September 7, 2024. The electoral body is scheduled to be convened on June 8, 2024, marking a significant step towards ensuring the elections are conducted smoothly and democratically.

This meeting underscores the Algerian government’s commitment to transparency, fairness, and the adherence to democratic principles in the election process.
