Constitutional Court Announces Final Results of Algeria’s 2026 Legislative Elections
Algeria’s Constitutional Court announced on Saturday the final results of the legislative elections held on July 2, 2026, officially confirming the new political composition of the People’s National Assembly.
Constitutional Court President Leila Aslaoui presented the results during a press conference at the institution’s headquarters in Algiers. The final voter turnout stood at 21.24 percent inside Algeria, while participation among members of the Algerian community abroad reached 10.75 percent.
The announcement followed the examination of 320 appeals concerning the provisional results previously declared by the National Independent Authority for Elections. The Constitutional Court’s review led to limited adjustments without fundamentally changing the general political balance produced by the vote.
The National Liberation Front emerged as the leading political party with 91 seats, followed by the National Democratic Rally with 74 seats. The Future Front secured 56 seats, while the Movement of Society for Peace obtained 43.
The National Construction Movement won 40 seats, followed by independent lists with 33. The Voice of the People party secured 16 seats, while the Socialist Forces Front obtained 12.
The New Dawn Party and the Freedom and Justice Party each won six seats. The El Karama Party secured five, while the Justice and Development Front and the Rally for Culture and Democracy obtained four seats each.
The Rally of Algerian Hope and the Workers’ Party each secured three seats, while the Ennahda Movement won two.
Six political parties obtained one seat each: the New Algeria Front, the National Republican Alliance, the Good Governance Party, the Free Citizens’ Front, the Algerian Renewal Party and the National Unity for Development Party.
The final results confirm a diverse parliamentary landscape in which several political parties and independent representatives will participate in legislative work.
The Constitutional Court’s examination of electoral appeals represents an essential legal safeguard and demonstrates the importance given by the Algerian state to constitutional procedures, institutional transparency and respect for voters’ choices.
The official proclamation now clears the way for the installation of the new People’s National Assembly and the beginning of a new legislative term. The incoming parliament will be responsible for examining legislation, debating national priorities and supporting Algeria’s continued political, economic and social development.
