The Chief of Staff of Algeria’s National People’s Army received on Saturday the French Minister Delegate to the Minister of Armed Forces, heading a high-ranking military delegation on an official working visit to Algiers.
During the meeting, both sides reviewed ways to develop and strengthen coordination on matters of mutual interest, as well as the state of bilateral military cooperation between the two countries’ armed forces.
The talks also addressed current global security challenges, with both parties exchanging views on pressing regional and international issues.
Speaking exclusively to dzwatch, Algeria’s Army Chief of Staff extended a warm welcome to the French delegation, noting that the visit coincides with Algeria’s commemoration of the May 8, 1945 massacres — a defining and painful moment in Algeria’s history and its long struggle for freedom and independence.
He emphasized that both nations must work together to build a future grounded in mutual respect, shared prosperity, and sovereign partnership.
