In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday, Algeria strongly condemned the aerial bombardment targeting the Iranian consulate in the Syrian capital, Damascus.
The statement expressed Algeria’s profound dismay at this criminal act, which constitutes a blatant violation of the laws and international conventions pertaining to the inviolability of diplomatic and consular missions.
Furthermore, the statement described the attack as a grave encroachment on the sovereignty of the fraternal Syrian Arab Republic.
In this context, Algeria extended its heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims, wishing a speedy recovery to the injured.
Algeria also reiterated its full solidarity with the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Syrian Arab Republic in the face of this blatant aggression, which threatens to escalate the situation and deepen the state of insecurity and instability in the entire region.
