Algeria’s Ministry of Agriculture has announced the addition of extra booking slots on the digital ‘Adahi’ platform, as the country accelerates preparations ahead of Eid al-Adha.
The ministry told dzwatch that the newly added quotas correspond to previously cancelled registrations or slots whose owners failed to complete their purchase within the designated timeframe.
This move comes within the framework of the national programme approved by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, which mandates the importation of one million sheep to guarantee adequate supply and stabilise market prices ahead of the holy occasion.
To date, a total of 998,750 imported livestock have been recorded, distributed across the national territory alongside shipments still in transit or under customs clearance — signalling that the programme is nearing full completion before Eid.
The ‘Adahi’ digital platform was launched to allow Algerian citizens to register and benefit from imported sacrificial animals through a transparent, organised distribution mechanism covering all wilayas nationwide.
