Saudi Arabia Reports Epidemic-Free Hajj Season 2026

The Saudi Ministry of Health has announced that the Hajj season of 1447 AH / 2026 AD concluded without any epidemic outbreaks or health threats impacting public health. Health authorities confirmed that the general health condition of pilgrims remained stable and reassuring throughout the entire season. This achievement was realized despite concurrent global epidemiological challenges and international health developments that necessitated the highest levels of monitoring, preparedness, and readiness.

Hajj season epidemic-free

Saudi Minister of Health, Fahad bin Abdulrahman Al-Jalajel, affirmed the Hajj season's freedom from epidemic outbreaks and health hazards, particularly in light of simultaneous global health challenges. The ministry elaborated that this year's Hajj coincided with significant international epidemiological events, including Ebola outbreaks in several countries and the detection of Hantavirus cases globally. These circumstances underscored the critical importance of early preparation, continuous epidemiological surveillance, coordination with national and international health bodies, and enhanced response readiness for any potential health risks.

Crucially, no suspected or confirmed cases of epidemic diseases with public health implications, including Ebola and Hantavirus, were identified among pilgrims during the season, according to the ministry's spokesperson.
