The Algerian Red Crescent (CRA) is launching a multi-disciplinary medical caravan from June 2nd to June 6th in the Bordj Badji-Mokhtar wilaya, aimed at enhancing healthcare services and making them more accessible to citizens. This solidarity caravan will serve both Bordj Badji-Mokhtar and Timiaouine communes within the wilaya.

The initiative brings together nine practitioners specializing in dermatology, cardiology, internal medicine, gynecology-obstetrics, orthopedic surgery, urology, otolaryngology, and general medicine, according to the caravan's coordinator, Mehdi Belaouer. The caravan will commence its operations at the Tati-Ghali public hospital in the wilaya's chief town before moving to the 1st of November polyclinic in Timiaouine on Thursday, situated approximately 150 km east of Bordj Badji-Mokhtar.
Further extending its reach, the caravan will also conduct on-site examinations, consultations, and distribute medications in Abane-Ramdane, located 50 km east of Bordj Badji-Mokhtar. A significant allocation of around 9,000 medication units has been designated for the residents of the region.
The primary objectives of this medical caravan are to bring specialized healthcare closer to citizens, provide essential medical examinations and consultations, manage pathological cases, and offer health advice and recommendations, particularly for residents in remote areas. This initiative underscores the strengthening of solidarity efforts and the improvement of healthcare access for underserved populations.
