The AUPSC's agenda for June is comprehensive, encompassing five key areas. These include three thematic issues and two country-specific files addressing nations facing significant security and political challenges. All scheduled meetings will be conducted at the ambassadorial level, emphasizing high-level diplomatic engagement.

The Council commenced its work with an open session focused on the pressing situation of refugees, internally displaced persons, and humanitarian assistance across Africa. Discussions are anticipated to center on bolstering humanitarian support, mobilizing essential resources, and tackling the underlying causes of forced displacement within the continent.

Key country situations will also be deliberated, with the Council addressing the situation in Guinea on June 3rd, followed by a review of the latest developments in Libya on June 9th. The month's major meetings will conclude on June 30th with a crucial review of the ten-year implementation of mechanisms for assessing fragility and enhancing resilience in African states, alongside monitoring the compliance and accountability framework within the African Union's peace support operations.
