Algeria’s Civil Protection Services Successfully Combat Multiple Fires Nationwide

Algerian Civil Protection forces have successfully extinguished 11 significant fires across multiple provinces, demonstrating their rapid response and operational capabilities. The Directorate General of Civil Protection released a statement detailing the efforts made to combat vegetation fires, including those affecting agricultural lands, forests, and orchards.

Out of a total of 17 registered fires, 11 have been fully extinguished, while operations are ongoing for five others. One fire, after being controlled, has been placed under guard.

Provinces that reported agricultural fires included Ouargla, where a crop fire near Saïd Attaba required ongoing monitoring. In Guelma, crop fires in the villages of Baltah and Heliopolis were fully extinguished. Mostaghanem also saw a crop fire in the municipality of Ain Boudinar successfully put out, though efforts continue in Sour.

Further successes were reported in M'Sila, where a crop fire in the Jabal Amour municipality was extinguished. In Biskra, a fire affecting fruit trees in El Hazima was also brought under control. Relizane experienced crop fires in the municipalities of Ben Daoud and El Qalaa, with ongoing efforts.

Tizi Ouzou reported the successful extinguishing of a crop fire in D'zaïr Ben Khedda. Oran is continuing firefighting operations in Boutlélis. In Médéa, crop fires in the municipalities of Cheniguel, Ech-Chebounia, and Oum El Djallil saw varying degrees of progress, with some fully extinguished and others still being managed.

Additional extinguishments were confirmed in Mila, where a fruit tree fire was put out, and in Tiaret, where a crop fire in Bougara was successfully managed. Ain Témouchent also reported the complete extinguishing of a crop fire in Oued El Sebaah.

The coordinated efforts by the Civil Protection services underscore their vital role in safeguarding national resources and ensuring public safety across the country.
