Algerian law enforcement in the Wilaya of Bechar has successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle and distribute a significant quantity of psychotropic substances. The operation led to the seizure of more than 85,000 capsules of Pregabalin and the arrest of a suspect.

According to a statement from the relevant security services, the operation was initiated following intelligence indicating a plan to transport a large shipment of Pregabalin, destined for the northern provinces of the country via a heavy goods vehicle. The Search and Intervention Brigade (BRI) intercepted the suspicious truck on the southern exit of Abadla town in Bechar province.
Upon inspection, authorities discovered a substantial cache of 85,500 Pregabalin capsules expertly concealed within the truck's spare tires. The suspect has been presented before the public prosecutor at the Abadla court.
