President Tebboune Receives Spanish Business Leaders During Sánchez’s Algeria Visit

President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune received a delegation of Spanish business leaders on Monday at the headquarters of the Presidency of the Republic in Algiers. The executives represented companies operating in several economic sectors.
The meeting formed part of the official activities organized during the working and friendship visit of Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez to Algeria. It highlighted the important role of economic cooperation and private-sector partnerships in strengthening relations between Algeria and Spain.
Earlier in the day, President Tebboune formally welcomed Sánchez at the Presidency headquarters before the two leaders held talks concerning bilateral relations and cooperation between their countries.
The reception of Spanish corporate leaders reflected the shared interest in encouraging investment opportunities, business exchanges and partnerships between Algerian and Spanish institutions. It also demonstrated the willingness of both sides to give a stronger economic dimension to their renewed political dialogue.
Algeria and Spain maintain close geographic, economic and historical ties across the Mediterranean. Cooperation between the two countries covers several strategic fields, while both governments have expressed their intention to establish a forward-looking partnership based on mutual interests and long-term development.
The participation of Spanish company executives in the visit offered an opportunity to examine potential cooperation with Algeria and to learn more about the country’s economic priorities and investment environment.
President Tebboune’s meeting with the business delegation followed a series of official discussions held during Sánchez’s visit, underlining the importance placed on direct engagement between political leaders and economic operators.
The Spanish Prime Minister left Algiers on Monday afternoon after concluding his working and friendship visit to Algeria.
The visit marked another step toward reinforcing dialogue between Algeria and Spain and creating new prospects for economic cooperation, investment and mutually beneficial partnerships.
