High-Level Omani Delegation Visits Algeria to Strengthen Digital Transformation Cooperation
A high-level delegation from the Sultanate of Oman arrived in Algiers on Saturday for a four-day working visit aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in the field of digital transformation.
According to a statement from Algeria’s High Commission for Digitalization, the visit is part of ongoing coordination between the Commission and Oman’s Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology.
The visit follows agreements reached between Meriem Benmouloud, Algeria’s Minister and High Commissioner for Digitalization, and the Omani Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology during his visit to Algeria from May 3 to May 6, 2026.
On the first day of the visit, the Algerian side presented several major projects and programs implemented under the supervision of the High Commission for Digitalization. These included the National Digital Transformation Strategy, digital infrastructure development, and the Algerian National Center for Digital Services.
The presentations highlighted Algeria’s progress in building a modern digital ecosystem and created new opportunities for exchanging expertise and sharing experiences between the two countries.
Members of the Omani delegation welcomed Algeria’s advances in digital transformation and expressed interest in exploring investment opportunities, expanding cooperation, and establishing strategic partnerships that could accelerate digital development and knowledge exchange.
The Omani side also showcased the expertise of several leading national companies specializing in digital transformation. Innovative solutions and technologies were presented, particularly in artificial intelligence and digital government services.
The four-day program also includes technical meetings, specialized workshops, and field visits to several institutions and facilities linked to the digital sector.
These activities are expected to deepen cooperation between Algeria and Oman and support the development of long-term partnerships in digital infrastructure, artificial intelligence, e-government, and other emerging technologies.
