Algeria-Cuba Talks to Enhance Health Cooperation

On Monday evening, Minister of Health Abdelhak Saïhi met with his Cuban counterpart, José Ángel Portal Miranda, on the sidelines of the 77th General Assembly of the World Health Organization in Geneva.

A statement from the Ministry of Health indicated that both parties praised the depth and level of bilateral relations between the two countries. Both ministers expressed their satisfaction and hope to further strengthen these relations by expanding the existing cooperation between Algeria and Cuba into other areas.

In this context, the statement added, the two sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries, particularly in implementing the provisions of the agreement and strengthening the Cuban team in specialties such as gynecology, radiology, resuscitation, and ophthalmology.

Minister Saïhi highlighted the significant progress in bilateral relations in the health sector, proposing to intensify and expand these efforts.

At the end of the meeting, both parties agreed to continue coordinated efforts to elevate bilateral relations to the highest level and to build a strong partnership that benefits both countries, according to the statement.
